My name is Lusine. I live in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, which is one of the most ancient cities in the world. I am proud of my country for its old history and culture. Due to the diversity of altitudes, climates and landscapes found in the country, Armenia supports a surprisingly high diversity of plants and animals, including many endemic, relict and rare species. Armenia is botanically diverse; some 3,500 species of vascular plants have been recorded, giving a density of higher plants (100 spp./km2) that is one of the highest in the world. In addition, tens of thousands of lower plants and bacteria species have been recorded from Armenia. More than 17,500 species of animals have been recorded from Armenia, including 500 vertebrate species. Armenia is considered one of the most important centers for agro biodiversity in the world, and represents a relatively large area supporting wild relatives of crops and agricultural varieties.
As for me, I am a post-graduate of the Agrarian University. I combine my study with work in the NGO “Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment”. I like my work as it is connected with agriculture activates in several project villages. I like to write and recite poems, make compositions from flowers. I am fond of reading science fiction and belles-letter, gardening, listening to music. I am an art lover; I like to visit picture galleries, museums and theatres. During my trips in abroad I especially pay attention to ancient architectural monuments.
