This workshop aims to summarize the present state of scientific knowlegde about potential health impacts of genetically modified organisms. We will summarize the state of the art and what is known as well as what is not known. We will also look at the present procedures of risk assessment for the approval of GMOs in key institutions and at the discussions as well as pressures within the scientific community.
