Outline:
The objective of the Seminar is to make known the situation of transgenic crops in Latin America. The seminar starts with an overview of the situation in Latin America, afterwards will be a presentation of the situation of transgenic potato in Latin America, given that the year 2008 has been declared The Potato International Year. Then will follow case presentations, such as Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Chile.
The Seminar intends to make known the situation in Latin America, present the advances in the campaigns against transgenics, the obstacles that have arised to declare LA countries GE Free. We aim to strengthen the national campaigns and the Network for a GE Free LA, establish closer relationships with other campaigns, explore financial support for the activities, receive comments and suggestions and establish strategic alliances.
